Honestly kind of a messed up movie concept.
It’s showing the way people with Down syndrome are treated. Kind of showing that it is messed up
I think it's just one of those reversal films in which the message is that treating someone better or worse due to something that they didn't have a choice over isn't good. Like that one book in which a straight guy was in a gay world and the dude was facing prejudice 'cause he was in love with some girl and struggling with his identity. Like the walk a mile in my shoes or something like that. But I don't think it can be that backed up 'cause the comedy doshing the down syndrome people seems a bit unnecessary if that's the message. Searching it up, it seems to be a think piece for non disabled people to understand what it's like to be treated as someone with down syndrome (like as if you are different) It's supposed to make you think about the person that you are apparently docking on. As for the humour, maybe it's like a bait type movie, in which the target audience is supposed to be ableist so the humour boshes on disabled people to then switch and say that type of message. I'm just theorising though. TL;DR It's a walk a mile in someone else's shoes movie, the humour might be ableist to attract ableist audiences and then place that message in front of them. But I'm theorising.
